FOR PRACTITIONERS
Spruce Support Sessions
Thoughtful support can be an anchor when we are developing ourselves professionally. I offer individual and group sessions to help you build a practice that best reflects your particular desires and needs.
Often the very qualities that prompted us to seek a career in a helping profession comes with a shadow side of readily bending in the direction of the perceived needs of our clients. This habitual inclination to center other’s needs over our own can become particularly challenging and depleting.
Do you feel obligated to accept every new referral because you are afraid that you will not receive others that are a better match for you?
Are you hesitant to bring up issues related to your scheduling or fee with your clients? Is it difficult for you to imagine charging what you truly wish you were earning because you believe that your clients will leave?
Are you agreeing to work at times that aren’t best for you because you are afraid to prioritize your own schedule?
Our sessions will provide an opportunity to discover and creatively respond to your unmet needs that are asking for attention as well as the intuitive wisdom that serves as your clinical guide.
Anastasia Gochnour has investigated the challenges of boundaries in supportive relationships as a social worker, supervisor, and psychotherapist. Prior to her private practice, she worked for over a decade at an innovative harm reduction program serving homeless youth and more recently developed a group practice model designed to meet the specific needs of helping professionals in the early stages of private practice. Spruce builds on Anastasia’s social justice and psychotherapy experience through her work with individuals and organizations to creatively respond to unmet needs. She is a graduate of the Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy, the Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy program, the Women’s Therapy Centre Institute, and the Zen Center for Contemplative Care.
